The story of Château Fougas
Château Fougas is a family property and dates back to the 18th century. A charming contemporary watercolor by a surveyor shows the chateau surrounded by an unbroken stretch of land which was already home to vineyards.
Jean-Yves and Michèle Béchet have striven to produce a quality wine characterize by the minerality of its terroir, thanks to organic and biodynamic culture :
“We want our wines to express sense of place. We are looking for violet aromas rather than tar and favour refinement over concentration. Shunning fashion, we have a deep affinity with the land and are attached to authenticity.
